The I Ching is most useful as a mirror for change. A clear question helps you see the forces already moving through a situation and your own part within them.

Ask About Your Participation

Questions such as “What should I understand about my role in this decision?” are more fruitful than demands for a guaranteed outcome. They keep agency with the person consulting the text.

Name One Situation

Avoid combining several conflicts into one consultation. State the decision, relationship, or transition plainly. If a question still feels crowded, write it down and remove every clause that is not essential.
